Catch + Release: Mapping stories of cultural and geographic transition is an ongoing and collaborative project lead by artist Dr. Ruth Beer (Emily Carr University of Art and Design). Catch + Release is an adaptive project that has already been exhibited in several locations and venues. The project works to map stories of cultural and geographic transition in the context of global changes within coastal communities. The research and development of this interdisciplinary art project is focused on the creation of 'interactive storyscapes' – sensory installations which utilize multimedia techniques to provide viewers with an immersive experience. The project is intended to be adaptable to the local conditions in other coastal cities in the world.
